DWI Court Team Training
What are DWI Courts? DWI courts deal with hard core and repeat drunk driving offenders by providing long-term, ongoing accountability and rehabilitation in addition to conviction. Team oriented, comprehensive training is essential to the planning and development of a DWI court.
To assist local communities in developing DWI Court programs, the Texas Center for the Judiciary is offering a 3½ day DWI Court Team Training program May 17-20, 2010, at the new Westin Austin at the Domain in Austin, Texas.
This training has been designed by the National Drug Court Institute for judges interested in creating a DWI court and has been adapted to meet the needs of Texas judges. A training team consists of a judge and seven professionals representing various professions that are interested in participating in a facilitated planning process to establish a DWI Court.
THERE IS NO COST FOR THE TRAINING
There is no registration fee for this training and all travel costs associated with participation of the team members, including airfare, lodging, meals, and ground transportation, will be coordinated and reimbursed by the Texas Center in accordance with Texas Department of Transportation grant requirements.
